Getting to Mayne Island

From Vancouver (Tsawwassen)

BC Ferries operates two daily sailings from Tsawwassen (South of Vancouver) to Village Bay, Mayne Island. Check the schedule here. If you are bringing a vehicle, reservations are recommended.

Travelling via Swartz Bay is also an option. Sailings from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay are hourly in the summer and on odd hours in the off season. Check the schedule here. Be sure to ask for a Thoroughfare voucher when purchasing your ticket in Tsawwassen.

Transit

Translink operates regular bus service (route 620) to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal from Bridgeport Skytrain. Andrew recommends arriving at Bridgeport 10-15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure to ensure you get a seat. This bus can be very busy at times. Plan your transit trip here.

Parking

Short term, long term, and less expensive offsite parking is available at Tsawwassen.

From Victoria (Swartz Bay)

BC Ferries operates numerous daily sailings from Swartz Bay (North of Victoria) to Village Bay, Mayne Island. Check the schedule here.

Transit

BC Transit operates regular bus service (routes 70x and 72) to Swartz Bay from Downtown Victoria. This route can be especially busy during rush hour during peak ferry times. Andrew recommends boarding at the Legislative buildings or at least south of Fort St. to get a good seat. Plan your transit trip here.

Parking

Short term and long term parking are available at Swartz Bay.
