Thursday, Feb 26 – Tuesday afternoon, Mar 3rd, 2015 – Diane, Friday night – Tuesday morning – Alan

Friday, Feb 27- Sunday afternoon, March 1st – Christopher & Lauren

Its Spring…the daffodils and red flowering current are blooming. The water purifier got swapped out and it is working! Alan got to use his new birthday present chainsaw. Lauren baked, cooked & read. Christopher & Diane gardened some more – planted the bush rose, Tanner (Andrew & Lau’s Christmas tree) on the berm.

Monday, February 16th, 2015 – Diane stayed another day to garden & work on the Soul Space guestbook (Sunday evening while Alan went back on the ferry). The highway guys replaced the culvert going to Jagers and Diane scooped lots of moss for the kitchen stone steps & patio and Don asked them for extra dirt for Diane to use in the garden. They delivered 2 scoops of really wet dirt. Planted ferns by the Bayview Gate, spread foxglove seeds and transplanted moss.

Continuing Conversation

One of the things we love about Mayne is the way the conversation seems
to continue on over from the last time we were there. It’s a chance to
share our lives with people who are willing to really listen. The
challenge, of course, is that so many of the parameters in our lives
change between these all too rare opportunities, so the conversation
jerks around a bit; like an old film sometimes used to do. However, the
conversation always includes discussion about the ones that are near and
dear to us, the hopes, concerns, frustrations and laughs we have about our
loved ones, the interesting ideas we are each pondering, and our passions
of the moment. I think a photo album of our conversations would be every
bit, or more, interesting than the photo albums of our times together. We
are already looking forward to our next time on Mayne.

Bruce & Sue

Saturday, February 14 – 15th, 2015 – Bruce & Sue caught the 5:40am ferry to be at Soul Space for breakfast. Great weather for mid February, walked to Edith Point & chatted with the owners, Betty-Anne & Don. Sue helped Diane plant more plants from the Conservancy while Bruce helped Alan sort out the automatic gate opener. Bruce & Sue did all the food. Wonderful Valentines dinner & talks.

Thursday, February 12 – 13th, 2015. Transplanting Marathon. Christopher, Nancy & Diane spent all day Thusday digging up plants in White Rock. Rainy & Drizzly day. Thursday night ferry with Alan. Sushi in the lineup. Friday was warm and perfect for planting. Alan took down the temporary deer fence! Nancy & Christopher headed home on Friday night.
